The impact of kind words

Saying “what you did had a positive impact on me” is a profound message to give to another human being – it puts both of you in a happier, more grateful frame of mind. Neuroscience research suggests that expressing gratitude increases dopamine and serotonin, and activates the ventromedial prefrontal cortex. I have begun to collect kind words about my work below. Feel free to send more – it’s good for you and me both!

“I met Caz Jaine through a business network meeting. She was a business owner, but little did I know about her other talents. Caz is warm, gentle, empathetic and intuitive. She is a fantastic listener and has always made me feel comfortable in her company. When you meet Caz, you’ll understand when I say that you’ll feel as though you’ve known her for years. She instantly puts you at ease. I have received a few Reiki treatments from Caz. I had not had any Reiki treatments before, and I went into it with an open mind, but if I’m honest wasn’t expecting much. The treatment for me felt like a lovely warmth throughout my body. I also experienced some vivid ‘dreams’. I have a chronic medical condition and also some past trauma. Through the use of Reiki sessions Caz helped me to navigate the trauma and has improved my long standing chronic fatigue. I cannot recommend Caz enough. Don’t be shy, reach out to her, she is amazing.”

“I found the experience really really good, hours after the mindfulness training and even the next morning it provided a real sense of relaxation and calm, a richer calm from the “chattering monkeys” and ancillary noise we experience. I recall speaking really excitedly about it and was not at all embarrassed to share this experience (I thought I likely would not dare shared with others.. but I did/do).

You are clearly very talented in this area and your understanding and relaying of the subject is notably, I would certainly recommend you!”

“I found the introductory session very informative. It provided a well-rounded insight into different types of meditation and provided a good opportunity to try the different methods out. It was reassuring when other members of the group were providing their input as to why they wanted to take part in the session. This provided an emotional connection within the group that made me feel more at ease to try the meditation methods without feeling uncomfortable. Caz is a very knowledgeable, supportive and welcoming meditation leader and I would thoroughly recommend her meditation sessions to anyone.”

“Caz came to our house to treat both my dad and I. As a sports therapist I was intrigued about Reiki treatment and wanted an excuse to relax. It was a lovely experience and I felt really chilled out after. My dad is currently going through cancer treatment and he massively benefitted from his treatment. It made him release energy via laughter and it took away the pain he was experiencing from him lymphatic drains. Caz is amazing, and a person that you need in your life”.

Following a day long forest meditation retreat: “I wanted to say thank you for yesterday. Everything seemed just right, weather, location and your expert guidance. You are definitely making a difference, and should be really proud of the impact you are having”.

Caz has offered her services, in her free time, to deliver meditation workshops for police personnel. She has more than 20 years of experience in this area, and brought this expertise to the workplace with enthusiasm and without expectation of recognition.

This started with an introduction to meditation workshop, which was so popular that it has now become a monthly activity. The sessions are really well attended and attract a regular group of participants. They provide an opportunity for people to relax and unwind, as well as improving their resilience and coping strategies through focused attention activities.

The initiative has received praise from our Force Medical Advisor, Dr Dickson, who strongly advocates for the benefits of meditation, and anecdotal feedback from participants has been enormously positive.

By sharing her skills freely in her own time, Caz has no doubt made a big difference to the wellbeing of all those who attend. It is due to this extra-mile behaviour that Caz has been given a Supportive Leadership and Wellbeing award.
